I’m Merlin, I live in Estonis, in Tartu. I’m an Viking/Iron Age re-enactor. How it all started? It was Year 2008 when I joined the Viking club Tarbatu. I had there a good friend
Vanakaru (Meelis Säre) who soon became my teacher of Viking time jewelry making. I have been now student about 4 years. But there still is a lot to learn. I do my works at my teachers workshop ( Vanakaruvalukoda OÜ), but I hope that in one day I will have my own workshop. Vanakaru is one of the best teacher, and he have had many students. He has done that work ower 30 jears. He’s work is one of the best, especially good are he’s knives. I like to make jewelry after the archeological finds. But also to too some fantasy jewelry inspired by the historical jewelry. In university I learned folklore and history. so I sing a lot of old songs ( runic verse). I also teach how to make jewelry and sometime I do textile works too. For me is making jewelry and in summer traveling to different Viking camps as the way of life-I love it. So I hope to see you in some Viking camp in summer:)
